Greetings from the Windy City

Dave and I just returned from a whirlwind trip to Chicago. We flew out Thursday morning and returned Sunday afternoon. The trip felt short, maybe because we had layovers, so the travel days were long (especially when you're stuck on the tarmac for a couple hours in Denver!).

This was our first trip without our little guy. It was a bit far from home for a first-time.... I almost didn't go. Probably a pretty typical first-time-mom response. It was a great trip though. I think I only cried three times. It was a good time to really rely on the Lord and trust Him with the safety of our son.

So, if you're wondering, "Why Chicago?"... Dave was at a work conference all day Friday and Saturday. I got to sleep in and tour the town while he was busy listening to dental speakers. I had a great time on a downtown tour of the city, visiting the Art Institute, seeing the sights from the John Hancock observatory, and just meandering around the city. Starbucks is the same... I never made it to Dunkin' Donuts... and the pizza is fabulous!

Tyler did really well while we were gone (he was at home with the in-laws). It's great being home together as a family again!
