A great quote from John Piper's message, "God is the Gospel," given at the 2007 Resolve Conference ...
"No one goes to the Grand Canyon to increase their self-esteem, so why do they go? You don't go to the edge of the Grand Canyon to feel like somebody. The reason is because deeply written on the human soul is the truth that we were made not to be made much of, but to make much of God. Every human soul has a writing on their heart that says you're made for God, you're made to see him and savor him and admire him!
Your highest joy does not come from standing in front of a mirror liking what you see. I don't care how many psychologists tell you that it is. Your highest joy will be becoming a mirror off of which Christ shines as you behold him and are satistified in him."

Great quote my friend, quite consistent, as was the last post, with Piper's book we're reading, Desiring God. Honestly, how many times did you have to listen to it before you got it down verbatim?!
